Nancy MacMorris-Adix, CNM, MN
Nancy
is a 1985 graduate of the nurse-midwifery program at Oregon Health
Sciences University. She worked for three years in Harlingen, Texas, in
birth centers that provided care to indigent Hispanic women - Su
Clinica Familiar, Brownsville Maternity Center and Holy Family Birth
Center. Nancy returned to Oregon for job opportunities at Salud Medical
Center in Woodburn and OHSU. She has worked with Salem Nurse-Midwives,
Inc., since it started December, 1990.
Nancy and her husband Bill have 2 children, Molly and John.
Kathryn "Kage" Luedtke, CNM, MSN
Kathryn
is a 2007 graduate from Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland. She received her
undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison
in 2003. Following her graduation, she did
volunteer work as a nurse at a free standing birth center, Holy
Family Services, located in South Texas.
There, she provided nursing care, prenatal classes, and home visit support to indigent
Hispanic women. She also has in-hospital
nursing experience. She began attending births with the Salem Nurse Midwives while still a midwifery
student in 2005. In her free time, Kathryn enjoys salsa dancing,
hiking, traveling and taking bubble baths.
Kristen Jamsa, FNP, CNM, MSN
Kristen
has worked with us in the office since 2002. Her experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner has been a compliment to
our practice. We encouraged
Kristen to return to school to join us as a CNM, which she has done. She finished Oregon Health and Sciences
University’s nurse midwifery program in June of 2007. She and her
family chose to spend a year in Guatemala where her
husband taught and she volunteered as a midwife part-time in a very small rural
hospital. She is returning to us in the summer of 2008 as a nurse-midwife! Kristen
lives with her husband, Dan, and her 3 children.
Christine Weinmeister, CNM, MSN
Christine
is a 2004 graduate of the University of New Mexico Nurse Midwifery
program. Prior to completing her Master's degree, she worked as a labor
and delivery nurse in her hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Christine
relocated from the high desert of Northern New Mexico to the Willamette
Valley to work with the midwifery practice of Women's Healthcare
Professionals and has been attending births at Silverton Hospital since
spring of 2005. Christine joined our practice in the spring of 2009 and
is very happy to be able to continue working with the women and
families of the Mid-Willamette Valley and the Silverton Hospital Family
Birth Center. In her previous life (before returning to school for
nursing), Christine worked as an outdoor educator in Massachusetts and
Vermont and in her spare time continues to enjoy hiking and camping
with her two dogs, learning to fly-fish, reading, and craft projects.
